On February 15, 2025, at approximately 1:39 AM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the area of Story Road and Kollmar Drive for a report of a solo vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2010 Toyota sedan, occupied by an adult male driver, was traveling eastbound on Story Road near the intersection of Kollmar Drive when it left the roadway and struck the south curb of Story Road continuing eastbound until it struck a tree.
The driver was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries but later stabilized.
On March 3, 2025, the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office notified SJPD that the driver had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on February 26, 2025.
This was the 5th fatal collision and 5th traffic death of 2025.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
